Les 3 Fresnes is a gîte de campagne in the heart of the Normandy countryside. An authentic family cottage nestled in a sumptuous garden. A vegetables garden grown in permaculture and a pool complete the experience for the families and friends spending week-ends and holidays in this écrin de nature.

A soft and beautiful project in which graphisms, typeface, illustrations and color palette are worked with love and thoughtfulness. A project that is also a life change for my companion who launched the activity and myself who joined him in this adventure.

I worked on the unique bond existing between the house and the nature all around, witnessed down to the last detail. In this 200 years-old house, natural elements are omnipresent: half-timbered design, wood, thatch, stone, leather surround humans living an experience of slow life and togetherness, away from cities, performance and artificial things.

Naming
Les 3 Fresnes is a reference to the family of the owner, including 3 brothers.

The Oval Cell
A form reminding a keyhole and offering verticality and standing to the logotype.
A will to enclose the content and therefore creating a feeling of safety and disconnection with the world.

The typeface
Chosen for its aspect reminding the ironwork of ancient wood doors, this serif typeface offers organic and rustic contours.

The ash tree leaf
Drawn with its veins, detailed and involving a feeling of texture and life. The ash tree (Fresne), written in old french, is also a symbol of fertility.
